If you know my work, then you will know that I am very interested in sacred geometry and have done plenty of artwork using the Flower of Life. This statue in the Riverside Park, Chester-le-Street, caught my eye this weekend, and looking closely at it, I noticed its eyes were carved from Flower of Life patterns. The eyes look to have been covered in red paint at some point, as both of them have traces of red on them. I much prefer the natural stone and moss however, so I’m glad the paint has been removed.
It also looks like the owl could be standing on an open book. I’m really intrigued by this owl statue and haven’t been able to find out any more information about it as yet. If anyone has any further information on its history I would love to hear more, please comment below!
As always, you can use the colour swatch here in your own artwork, and you’ll find the hex codes for the colours over at Adobe Color. Have fun!
