Last week in my community art class we had a lot of fun getting messy painting our own fabric. We used acrylic paints mixed in with Liquitex gloss, matte and irridescent mediums to paint several layers with, and then used screen prints and inks from Thermofax Screens to create more layers and interest. All the fabric has been left to dry and this week we’ll heat set and wash the fabric, ready to use next week to make fabric flowers with.
Once the renovation work has been completed next door and I can film without background noise, I’ll film all of this as a tutorial for you!
In the meantime here are a few close ups of the fabrics I painted during the session (a rare occasion where I got to play too!) and once all the fabric flowers are made I’ll get photos of everyone’s work to show you!
