This year I will be working on my second Celtic Knotwork Colouring Book and I am going to document my process through a Patreon page. If you’re not familiar with Patreon, it is a site where you can support an artist as they work on their projects, in effect, becoming a patron of that artist. As part of my patron page, I’ll be sharing in depth all of these processes: drawing the designs, digitising the designs to get them in to the book, creating the layout for the book, and then finally the process of publishing the book. There will also be downloads each month that will only ever be available to my patrons, and of course, everyone who supports me will have their name in the book as a valued supporter. For those who wish to support me at the highest level each month, you’ll also receive a signed copy of the book. I’ll also be asking patrons for their input and opinions on the book and the artwork, so that I can make the best book possible. For example, the dragon above is definitely going in to the book – but he’ll need a background – what would you like to see there?
I’ve only just started up the page, but the first patron-only download is on there already, which is my Celtic Uncial Hand font, containing both upper and lower case letters, numerals, and basic punctuation.
You can find out all about the patron perks, and see a little video of me over on my Patreon page at patreon.com/carriedennison
I’ll still be adding photos of new work on here and on my Instagram page – all that will continue as normal! The Patreon page will go in to more depth, and may also be useful to anyone who is thinking of self-publishing, as I’ll be going in to all those details too.
If you have any questions, feel free to pop them below!
