Created by artist Agustín Ibarrola, these painted sea defences are to be found all around the harbour walls of the fishing port of Llanes, in Asturias, Spain. You can read more about them on the Llanes Tourism website, and they certainly do brighten up the sea defences. Llanes is a lovely town, which we have stopped in on several occasions to enjoy a stroll around the old town and the harbour. And also to enjoy a delicious 3 course menú del día, drinks included, for the amazing price of 12€ per person – we love the menú tradition!
Have a look around the Llanes website, it’s a beautiful town, and hopefully one day we’ll be able to explore this area a bit further, instead of just stopping by on our way to Galicia.
