Winter comes, and it’s time to get knitting by the fire again. I’ve been knitting a lot of presents lately, and here’s another one that’s on the needles, a simple scarf.
This is a simple twisted rib stitch, using James C Brett Marble Chunky and a pair of 8mm needles. As simple as it is, the stitch pattern makes a lovely textured and soft fabric, and knits up really quickly. In the photo at the bottom of this post, you’ll see what a lovely reversible fabric the stitch pattern makes.
Cast on an even number of stitches to the required width of your scarf. I have 28 stitches in this scarf, and it comes to 18cm wide.
Row 1: purl one, knit one through the back loop – repeat these two stitches all the way across.
Row 2: knit all stitches
Repeat these two rows until the scarf is as long as you want it.
