I’m currently taking two weeks holiday and am thoroughly enjoying spending time on some crafts that I normally wouldn’t get a chance to indulge myself in. Hand spinning is one of those crafts! I have a whole stash of hand dyed rovings, tops and also washed plain fleece, that needs turning into yarn and then lovely new items of clothing. I couldn’t resist choosing this hand dyed merino, that was created by an indie dyer who sadly is no longer in business. The spring-like colours are just what is needed at the moment! I must have bought this in the mid-2000s… so it’s high time it got spun!

From fleece, to singles yarn, to plied yarn

I’ve managed to get about 100g of it spun up and plied this weekend, still got about another 100g to go!

As always, this week’s colour inspiration swatch is available for you to download and use in your Adobe programs over at Adobe Color CC. Have fun!

Such fabulous colours. I would love to try spinning one day, must be quite therapeutic to do too 🙂

Thank you Suszan! Yes, it is really therapeutic, you can loose yourself for hours! Definitely go on a workshop to have a go if you see one! Drop spindle spinning is great too, and easy to make your own equipment 🙂

Say hello!
